Cultural Literacy
We believe that reading is vital to the success of African-American children and communities. We also believe that encouraging others to read about their history and culture provides an important connection to something greater than themselves, thereby increasing self-worth and instilling a greater sense of purpose. We encourage the community to "Read to Remember and Remember to Read!"
African/African-American History
In partnership with Eckerd College and SPC, Legacy-56 will collaborate on a series of lectures in the Spring and the Fall. In March 2019, we featured the award-winning journalist and documentary producer, Mr. Clennon King, featuring his latest documentary, Fair Game.
Courageous Conversations about Race
